A Letter from our Philanthropy Chair:

What Autism Speaks Means to The Women of Alpha Xi Delta:

“Since 2009 Autism Speaks has been Alpha Xi Delta’s philanthropy. Since then we have raised over $1,000,00 for Autism Speaks. Almost everyone knows someone who has Autism and Alpha Xi Delta strives to promote awareness for this cause so that the families and those affected by autism can get love and support. This cause is very near and dear to the ladies of Alpha Xi Delta’s hearts.”

As a chapter, we do many fundraising events throughout the year for Autism Speaks and to raise awareness for autism. We participate in the Walk Now for Autism Speaks that is held in Milwaukee every year and we raise money individually for the event. Not only do we participate in the walk, but we also plan our own fundraising events. We team up with Carroll sports teams and have “blue out” games where we have everyone in the audience where blue so that the crowd is all in blue. We host culver’s nights, an annual spaghetti dinner, and Football Frenxi, where students can create teams and play a friendly game of football. All of the proceeds from all of our events that we host go to Autism Speaks.

The ladies of Alpha Xi Delta not only support Autism Speaks but many other causes as well. Alpha Xi Delta attends all of the other sororities and fraternities philanthropy events and for the past few years, the ladies of the Beta Psi chapter have participated in Relay for Life. It is important to the ladies of Alpha Xi Delta to help other causes along with Autism Speaks.  One of our core values is service, so we work throughout the year to make sure we are letting this aspect of our foundation shine through.  Autism Speaks, other philanthropic services, and helping out in the community is very important to not only our chapter but to each individual sister.  We make it a goal to do more each year to help our philanthropy and our community.

XoXi,

Kaitlyn
